The Coast Guard Foundation is proud to announce that it has been chosen as the charitable partner for the 42nd Annual Newport International Boat Show, which takes place September 13 – 16 in Newport, Rhode Island. Being the boat show's charitable partner means that a portion of ticket sales from Sunday, September 16 will be donated to the Coast Guard Foundation.
The show is one of the premier maritime showcases in the country, and caps off Newport's summer of sailing, which started with the Newport to Bermuda race last week, and continues through the season with America's Cup World Series Finals and Ocean State Tall Ships activities.
"We are incredibly happy to be this year's charity of choice for The Newport International Boat Show," said Coast Guard Foundation President Anne B. Brengle. "The Newport boat show is a prestigious event, and we hope that our partnership is beneficial for both parties."
Tens of thousands of visitors are expected to attend the show to talk with almost 750 exhibitors and view some 600 boats ranging in size from 15 to 85 feet, plus kayaks, inflatables, services, equipment, electronics and accessories of all types.
