The Coast Guard Foundation was named the 2012 Newport International Boat Show's official charitable partner. The boat show generously donated a portion of the proceeds of Sunday ticket sales, which resulted in a $1,000 donation to the Foundation. The parternership between the Foundation and the Boat Show is a perfect fit, since it is boaters and sailors who depend upon members of the U. S. Coast Guard every day.
Each year the Newport International Boat Show partners with a charitable organization to support their cause.
In accepting a check from the Boat Show, Brad Sisley, Senior Vice President of Development of the Foundation said: "Thank you to the Newport International Boat Show for its generous support of our organization and for selecting the Coast Guard Foundation as this year's charitable partner. We are thankful and honored to be part of this showcase because it gives us an opportunity to shine a bright light on the heroic work the Coast Guard does every day right here in Newport, and throughout the country."

In addition to the monetary donation, the show, which ran this year from Thursday, September 13 – Sunday, September 16, provided a booth along America's Cup Avenue in Newport where some of its tens of thousands of visitors could learn more about the work of the Foundation.
