The 2014 Coast Guard Foundation Run to Remember has honored our Coast Guard’s fallen heroes in cities around the country since early April. Do you live in a Coast Guard city or town and want to join the Coast Guard Foundation Run to Remember movement?
There's still plenty of time in the year to plan and host an event. It’s easy, and we have all the tools to help you make your run a success. Click here for more information on how to host an event.
We’re happy to report that we’ve sold 975 Run to Remember shirts and registered and hosted 44 events so far this year. Each weekend there are events in locations around the country that continue the important work of paying tribute to those who are gone, but not forgotten. We remember. If you’re part of a run, walk, bike ride or workout, please share your photos and reflections with us here on the blog, Facebook and Twitter (#CGFR2R).
And for those of us who aren't part of an event this weekend, use this space to honor and remember our Coast Guard fallen heroes and their families for their service and sacrifice for our country.

Sector / Air Station Corpus Christi participated in the Armed Forces Beach 2 Bay Relay Marathon on Armed Forces Day as its Run to Remember event. Over 10 teams consisting of active duty, reserve, and dependents participated in 2014 and Coast Guard volunteers also supported a water stop. It's the largest relay marathon in the United States and the Coast Guard finished first out of 89 teams in the military/law enforcement division this year.

Coast Guard Foundation Walk to Remember
Coast Guard Foundation staff participated in our own “Walk to Remember” on this sunny spring day in Connecticut, to remember Coast Guard fallen heroes and pay tribute to those who will join the cause by participating in Run to Remember events all over the country this weekend and throughout the year.
There are 27 events registered to take place between this weekend and the end of June. We tip our hat to the event organizers and we say “thank you” to everyone who will participate. Through your generosity, you are not only showing your support for the Coast Guard Foundation; you joining with Coast Guard members and families all across the country to honor those who have died in the line of duty, and you’re letting the families and friends of the fallen know that we remember them -- we remember their sacrifice -- and we hold them close to our hearts.
