The America's Cup held a concert on Saturday, October 12 to celebrate the successful conclusion of the 2013 summer of sailing, with a portion of the ticket sales going to benefit the Coast Guard Foundation.
In the 34th running of the world-class sailing event in San Francisco Bay, Oracle Team USA pulled off a surprising comeback to beat Emirates Team New Zealand in the final race by a mere 44 seconds.
To close out the America's Cup concert series, The Avett Brothers played to a packed house on Saturday night at the America's Cup Pavilion in San Francisco.
"We at the Coast Guard Foundation are deeply honored to be the beneficiary of The America's Cup generosity," said President Anne B. Brengle. "The America's Cup is the pinnacle of competitive sailing, and so much of what the race stands for is reflected in the work the men and women of the Coast Guard do to keep us safe on the water every single day."
The Avett Brothers closed out the America's Cup concert series on Saturday, Oct. 12 in San Francisco, raising roughly $4,500 for the Coast Guard Foundation.
