One of the Coast Guard Foundation's most solemn missions is to provide comfort to those who have
suffered the loss of a loved one in the line of duty. When a family or Coast Guard unit is faced with the
unthinkable, the Foundation steps in and provides immediate financial relief, whether it's a care package,
or paying for an airline ticket for a family member to attend her loved one's memorial service.
This video tells the story of Lisa Moletzsky and Audrey Gill, two people who the Coast Guard
Foundation have helped in times of need.

District One Awards

Inaugural District 1 Coast Guard Awards

A fast-boat crew from Station Chatham on Cape Cod received the Coast Guard Foundation's first-ever District 1 Award for heroism on September 15 in Boston, Mass. The three-man boat crew responded to a blistering yacht fire several miles offshore in the early morning hours of July 31, 2010. Under pitch dark and perilous conditions, BM1 Matthew Hussey, BM1 Josh Perkins and BM3 Sherman Baldwin rescued 11 people from the 44-foot yacht Bronze Monkey. The burning yacht had more than 300 gallons of diesel onboard. Had the fire reached the fuel, the results would have been disastrous.
