Isabel DeSanno, College Graduate
Isabel DeSanno, a two-year recipient of the Coast Guard Foundation Seaman First Class Peter J. Russo and Signalman Third Class Walter E. Lafferty Scholarship, graduated top of her class at Kean University this spring.
She earned her degree in two years, having earned enough college credits in high school, where she was also valedictorian, to start her higher education journey as a junior. As a scholar-athlete, she is a member of the university's swim team and will continue to compete for another two years as she continues her education at Kean to pursue a master’s and doctorate degree in forensic psychology.

“Thank you for choosing me as a scholarship recipient. I would not be the person I am today without the Coast Guard, and I wouldn’t trade anything for the honor and privilege of being a military child,” shared Isabel in her valedictorian speech.
Congratulations to all of our Coast Guard Foundation scholars who graduated this year. We are so incredibly proud of you and know your futures are very bright.
