Salute to the U.S. Coast Guard in Seattle to Honor Pacific Northwest Heroes and CAPT. Michael Inman, USCG (Ret.)
The Coast Guard Foundation’s annual Seattle Salute brings together Coast Guard leaders, maritime industry professionals, and community supporters to recognize service members’ critical roles in maritime safety, search and rescue, environmental protection, and national security.
Flood Rescuers Recognized
Among those honored will be Coast Guard helicopter crews that responded to severe flooding in western Washington State on Dec. 10, 2025. Crews rescued four residents from flooded areas and worked with local emergency crews searching for others potentially stranded by floodwaters.
Captain Michael Inman to be Honored
The Foundation will also present its prestigious Guardian Award posthumously to Capt. Michael Inman, USCG (Ret.), who will be recognized for his lasting contributions to the U.S. Coast Guard, the Seattle event, and the Pacific Northwest maritime community. Mike dedicated more than 30 years to public service before bringing his wealth of experience and steady leadership to the cruise industry. He held senior roles at Holland America Line, Seabourn, and Windstar Cruises. He was known for his deep commitment to safety, integrity, and doing the right thing—even when it wasn’t easy. He also served as the chairman of the Foundation's Seattle event for many years.
The Guardian Award is the Coast Guard Foundation’s highest honor, presented to individuals whose service, sacrifice, and dedication have made an extraordinary impact on the Coast Guard community.

Held on May 12, the evening will begin with a Cocktail Reception at 6:00 PM, followed by Dinner and Program at 7:00 PM, with a Post-Dinner Reception to follow.
