Last year, a single Coast Guard member, LT Brian Bruns, embarked on a journey to run 100 miles in honor of Coast Guard members who died in the line of duty since September 11th, 2001. This year the race has turned into a global event. Led by LT Lucy Love, 90 individuals formed relay teams to tackle the Keys 100 this weekend, a 100-mile ultra-marathon that begins in Key Largo ends in Key West. Thanks to the hard work of volunteers, teams ranging from 25 to 300 people are running satellite races in Coast Guard cities around the world in conjunction with the Keys 100. These runners are racing to honor the Fallen Heroes of the Coast Guard.
