Projects Nationwide
The Coast Guard Foundation supports morale and wellness projects at Coast Guard units and communities across the country, helping members and families stay connected, supported, and mission ready. These investments recognize that the demands of service — including long deployments, remote duty stations, high operational tempo, and time away from loved ones — can affect both physical and emotional well-being.
Through grants for exercise equipment, sports and recreation resources, outdoor gear, and upgraded morale spaces, the Foundation helps Coast Guard members maintain healthy routines and recharge during demanding assignments. It also funds community spaces and unit-based events that strengthen camaraderie, reduce isolation, and create opportunities for families to spend meaningful time together.
In 2025, the Foundation invested more than $1.4 million in 247 morale and wellness projects nationwide. These efforts included support for Coast Guard Day celebrations, holiday gatherings, family events, and improvements to spaces where members can rest and build community. At Coast Guard Station Fairport in Ohio, for example, Foundation funding helped completely update the crew lounge, creating a welcoming place for members standing watch to relax, relieve stress, and strengthen camaraderie during downtime.
Whether supporting a crew lounge after a fire, funding a family event during a stressful period, or improving wellness resources at a remote station, these projects help strengthen the broader Coast Guard community. By investing in morale nationwide, the Foundation helps ensure members and families have the support they need wherever service takes them.
