Honoring Fallen Heroes

The Coast Guard Foundation honors fallen heroes by investing in the futures of their children. Through the Fallen Heroes Scholarship program, children of Coast Guard members who died in operational, line-of-duty service receive support that covers 100% of higher education expenses.

These scholarships help students attend college or trade school without the weight of financial uncertainty or debt. At the same time, they stand as a lasting tribute to the service and sacrifice of the parent they lost. By removing barriers to education, the Foundation helps these young people pursue their goals with confidence and opportunity.

In 2025, seven children of fallen Coast Guard heroes received scholarships that covered the full cost of their college or trade school education. Additional booster grants and long-term support helped ensure these families continued to receive meaningful assistance beyond the immediate aftermath of loss.

Honoring fallen heroes means more than remembering their service. It means caring for the families they left behind and helping their children build strong, hopeful futures.
